These are One-Time Costs - There are No Renewal Fees Ever
Note: The Participating Artist Directory is sorted by the number of pixels linked and then by the date the pixels were ordered.
So... the more pixels you purchase (and the earlier), the higher your listing will be ranked within your category.

This is what you will need to have before you begin:
-
Your Image
- GIF and JPEG files only (no animations)
- Images containing text are highly discouraged and are usually rejected
(We really don't want viewers to "Read" the Million Pixel Image - Sorry)
-
The website address you want your image to link to.
-
The TITLE/ALT text you want for your image.
TITLE/ALT text appears when people hover their cursor over your image.
-
Unlike most other online portfolio directories...
Our goal is to prompt the user to "surf the web" — to see your web site and your own unique creativity — and not to stay on our site. We're simply the springboard.
-
Curiosity and the randomness of links will take people to your site who may never visit on their own through traditional means.
-
Many are finding the Million Pixel Image to be a brilliantly simple and fun way to surf the net for creative inspiration!
-
In addition to your image and link on the Million Pixel Image, we are providing text listings in our Participating Artist Directory — which will be an additional benefit to your web site from a SEO (search engine optimization) point of view.
-
Where else can potentially 10,000 artists come together to create a single image?
- 20% of profits will be donated to various charities selected by our participants.
-
In addition to our own Direct E-mail campaigns, we currently have various ads running on the web, in subscriber based e-newsletters and in print with these fantastic companies. As the site grows... so will our marketing efforts!
-
Upcoming campaigns are in the works for:
-
-
-
We've committed to hosting the Million Pixel Image for a minimum of 5 years - this means until at least November 15, 2010 (possibly much longer). Any Pixel Blocks that you purchase will be yours to manage and/or change throughout the life of the image - there is no expiration date, and no annual renewal fee.
-
We'd like to keep the nature of the image geared towards the Creative Arts industry - which really covers a very broad spectrum.
- Images containing text are highly discouraged and are usually rejected. We really don't want viewers to "Read" the Million Pixel Image.
-
We won't allow obscene/offensive/adult images/adult sites or links, etc.
-
Ultimately we have the right to make the final editorial decision as to what is appropriate for the site.
-
If you submit an image or link that is rejected, you will have the opportunity to provide an alternative, otherwise your money will be refunded and you will lose your pixel space.
-
Please allow 1 business day for us to post your submission after your payment has cleared.
(Note: It is usually much faster than this.)
- Participating Artist Directory listings are sorted by the number of pixels linked and then by the date the pixels were ordered. So... the more pixels you purchase (and the earlier), the higher your listing will be ranked in your category.

Actually, the idea of Pixel Advertising came from a young guy from the UK named Alex Tew. He created the MillionDollarHomepage.com to generate money to pay for university. His site exploded after being launched in August 2005 – within a month he was ranked #4th on Alexa's list of 'Movers and Shakers' on the whole of the internet, just behind Apple, Chevrolet and NFL!
Alex was asked if he is worried about copy-cats/rip-offs? Answer: "Not at all. It is bound to happen (this is the internet afterall), and infact, I think it will work in my favour. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."
Alex’s brilliant idea has basically given us 500 pages of search results (10,000 listings) on one page -- albeit not targeted -- and that’s where there’s room to improve upon his idea.
So what better industry to benefit from this unique marketing idea? And who better to create the mosaic-like image than artists themselves?
Alex started this newest internet trend, we've simply developed the idea a little further to focus on the Creative Arts community.
Just ask us.
